Objectives


B. Sc. Computer Science is a systematically designed three year course that prepares the student for a career in Software Industry. The syllabus of computer Science subject along with that of the three allied subjects (Mathematics, Electronics and Statistics) forms the required basics for pursuing higher studies in Computer Science. The Syllabus also develops requisite professional skills and problem solving abilities for pursuing a career in Software Industry.



SCHEME OF EXAMINATION FOR F.Y.B.SC (COMPUTER SCIENCE):
1. There will be 80 : 20 pattern of evaluation in which 80 marks are for the Annual Examination to be conducted at the end of the academic year and 20 marks for term wise internal evaluation.
2. Practical examination will be conducted by the respective colleges at the end of the academic year, 80 marks will be assigned to practical and 20 marks for journals and orals.
3. There will be grading system based on performance of candidates.

The grading system is as follows:Below 40% D
40 – 50 % C
50 – 60 % C+
60 – 70 % B
70 – 80 % B+
80 – 90 % A
90 and Above A+

PATTERN FOR PRACTICAL EXAMINATION FOR ELECTRONICS LAB –

(A) Internal Marks 20 :
16 marks are assigned for experiments, journal and attendance
04 marks for activities .

(B) Annual examination : 80 Marks In Two sessions of 3 Hrs .
Session I: 40 marks
Practical work 32 marks
Activity performed by the student 8 marks
Session II: 40 marks
Practical work 32 marks
Activity performed by the student 8 marks

PATTERN FOR PRACTICAL EXAMINATION FOR MATHEMATICS LAB–

(A) Continuous Internal Evaluation of 20 marks

(B) Annual Practical Examination (duration 3 hours) of 80 marks.
The College will conduct the written Practical Examination of 80 marks at least 15 days before the commencement of the Main Theory Examination. There will be no external examiner. The written practical exam will be for the duration of 3 hours. Each student will maintain a journal to be provided by the College at a cost. Certified journal will be submitted by the student at the time of the Practical Examination. There will be 20 marks for internal assessment which will include marks for journal and attendance.

Theory Papers - 7 Theory papers of 50 marks per semester (Internal examination 10 + Semester Examination 40, Total 50)

Practical Papers:-
Practical Lab I:Practical examination will be conducted by the respective colleges at the end of the academic year, 80 marks will be assigned to practical’s and 20 marks for journals and orals.
Practical Lab II:Practical examination will be conducted by the respective colleges at the end of the academic year. There will be grading system based on performance of candidates.The grading system is as follows.

Marks Grade :Below 40 D (D Grade indicates fail)

50 - 59 C+
60 - 69 B
70 - 79 B+
80 - 89 A
90 and Above A+
